St Pete Beach is a fascinating area to explore, but it can get expensive. Your money can wither away so fast in St Pete that you will think you have a hole in your pocket. There is a slew of activities that you can do with your family in St Pete Beach for cheap or for free, however. The following are just five of the budget-friendly activities that you could indulge in with your family. Much more are available, but these are a start:
First Friday
If you feel like venturing into the St Petersburg section of the area, then you could take your family to see a concert. Every First Friday of the month, the resident’s gather ’round on Central Avenue for a block party. The event is free. However, you will have to buy your food and drinks there if you get hungry or thirsty. You have the option to donate if you would like to be kind and give something to the cause. The block party starts at 5:30 p.m. and goes on until 10 p.m.
Trolley and Ferry Ride
Trollies and ferries are some of the most adventurous and exciting activities that you can do anywhere. St Pete Beach is no different. Nothing is nearly as soothing as sitting down on a Ferry as it glides across the beautiful blue waters. If you’re lucky, you can catch some pictures of it. The Island Ferry is on Pass A Grille Way, and you can schedule a tour or cruise that you can tailor to your liking. The sunset cruise is about $49 per person, which may be on the high side.
McKenney Park for Fishing
You can visit McKenney Park if you like fishing or you have children that will benefit from visiting the playground. You can rent the entire park if you have an event that you want to do with your family.
Gizella Kopsick Arboretum
The Gizella Kopsick Arboretum is a free park that you can visit if you love nature and trees. You will have the opportunity to see more than 500 palm trees and get some fabulous photos. Also, you’ll have the luxury of being able to sit in a myriad of gazebos if you so desire. The park is open every day, and you can have someone give you a guided tour if you would like one of those.
Farmer’s Market
If you are near Al Lang’s Stadium, you can visit the Farmer’s Market. The Farmer’s Market happens every Saturday, and you get to see a ton of vendors sell their fruits, crafts, and other items. You may even find that the live band is amazing. The Farmer’s Market usually has a live band playing for it.
