Best Burger Joints And Seafood Restaurants At St Pete Beach
Understandably enough, seafood items (of all manners and descriptions) will swamp your imagination when you come to think of the culinary scene of St Pete, the charming beach town in Florida. And we will come to that in a moment. But if you are visiting St Pete Beach anytime soon and if food is more than a passion for you, you will love to know that while unarguably seafood is the biggest attraction, there is so much more to the culinary action of St Pete.
For example, had you ever imagined that St Pete, for all its famous restaurants and chic eateries, is a burger heaven, too? As we have found out, which is what it is. You will find many cozy little burger joints nestled at various parts of the beach and as you approach one of them and the delightful fragrance of a freshly grilled burger fills in your nostrils, what you wouldn’t give for such a delightful sensation, especially after a day of frolicking on the beach?!
One such lovely burger joint is Willy’s Burger and Booze. You will love the little shack-like ambiance and the laidback atmosphere and boy if their burgers aren’t big and juicy! So, if you’re in for it, try The Big One, or The Big Blue, or The Big Gooey—and yes, they are as big and messy as they sound. In other words, they are overindulgence to the extreme! But then again, you are vacationing, aren’t you?
Then there’s Ted Peter’s restaurant which is, of course, famous for its smoked fish. And there is no denying it that their fish spread or smoked fish served with crackers as well as other fish items are things you will rather not miss while you are at St Pete Beach. And yet, surprisingly enough, it is the Ted Peters’ Burger which consistently remains the most requested item off their menu. Indeed, we talked with a few locals and according to what they say, some people will often travel for hours to come back to Ted’s just to enjoy another bite of their famous burger!
And if you’re looking for a little bit of romance and a dose of the old-time charm of the town, you may head to Sand Bar Bill’s Bar&Grill. The place is a part of and is located next to the now legendary resort of St Pete, the Bon-Aire. So, before you settle down for your meal, you may have a quick jaunt around the premises of this old boutique hotel (way before boutique hotels became a fashion) which retains much of the ancient seaside charm of a Florida beach town. They have an excellent tiki bar too, which is another local favorite.
And to come back to burgers, Sand Bar may justifiably boast of the best of its kind in town. The meat patty is hand patted and is made of IBP beef and the vegetables taste so fresh and crisp as if they were plucked a moment ago from the garden.
Well, that’s for burgers. As for the seafood, it will need a separate article altogether even to start talking about it. So, for your convenience, let’s just drop a few names here: PJ’s Oyster Bar, Hurricane Seafood Restaurant, Crabby Bills, Rowe Bar and Castille. These arguably are some of the best places in St Pete Beach for the purpose of satisfying your epicurean self!
